Second Year Social Work Internships
Second Year Social Work Internships
Our MSW internship program is designed to give MSW students the opportunity to develop clinical, mezzo and macro skills within a community based mental health agency. Interns complete their MSW Internship within several programs at Child and Family Guidance Center, including Outpatient Treatment Services at our Northridge-Zelzah, Northridge-Balboa and Palmdale sites, Therapeutic Behavioral Services, and our CalWORKs program. Interns working in all programs have the unique opportunity to become a part of a highly dedicated multidisciplinary team. Interns are involved in a variety of activities including individual and family psychotherapy and behavioral treatment, group therapy, evidence-based practice, intake assessment, field-based work, program development research and policy creation and implementation, outreach and partnership, agency-wide trainings, individual and group supervision, and training in Department of Mental Health documentation. Referrals to the MSW internship program primarily come from the Schools of Social Work Field Placement offices.
